    AN APPEAL TO HELP REFUGEES IN KOSOVO & METOHIA


    In response to the surge of refugees fleeing the most recent wave of violence in Kosovo & Metohia, the Serbian-American Alliance of New England, in cooperation with the U.S.-based Decani Relief Fund http://www.kosovo.com/dec_relfund.html, has begun collecting donations to help all those in need.
     
    As collecting goods and sending them over to Kosovo & Metohia would be an extremely slow, cumbersome and expensive endeavour while our help is needed urgently there, we decided that the quickest and most efficient way to help would be to collect monetary aid. Thus we urge you to send your kind tax-deductible donations ASAP to:

    Please make your checks or money orders payable to SANE with a note “For Decani Fund”. Indicate in your addressed letter with your donation whether you would like to obtain a receipt from SANE confirming your tax-deductible donation.
     
    The aid will be delivered directly to the Decani Monastery brotherhood with the help of the kind people working for the US-based Decani Relief Fund. The funds will be used to obtain provisions for food, clothes, firewood, shelter and medical assistance to those who were forced to flee since March 17, 2004. The aid is provided throughout the region through the God loving efforts of the monks of the Decani Monastery.

What is the Zend Optimizer?

The Zend Optimizer is one of the most popular PHP plugins for performance-improvement, and has been available without charge, since the early days of PHP 4. It improves performance by scanning PHP's intermediate code and passing it through multiple Optimization Passes to replace inefficient code patterns with more efficient code blocks. The replaced code blocks perform exactly the same operations as the original code, only faster.

In addition to improving performance, the Zend Optimizer also enables PHP to transparently load files encoded by the Zend Guard.

The Zend Optimizer is a free product available for download from Zend Technologies. Zend Technologies also developed the PHP scripting engine, known as the Zend Engine.
